Your personal settings
Your personal settings live in the same Settings area as everything else. Open Instellingen (Settings) and look at the Over jou (about you) group at the top: four rows that only affect your own account, never your teammates. Changes on these pages save automatically while you type.
See the Settings overview for the full settings page.
Jouw gegevens (your details)
Your name, email address and profile photo.
- First name and Last name. Your name also appears on your invoices.
- Email address. This is your login and it cannot be changed here; the field is read only.
- Profile photo. Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP image up to 5 MB. Customers see it on emails you send. A photo is optional, and you can remove it again at any time.
Weergave (display)
How the app looks for you, on every device you sign in on.
- Theme: Licht (light), Donker (dark) or Vanzelf (automatic). Automatic follows your device: light during the day, dark in the evening.
- Text size: Normaal (normal) or Groot (large), for more comfortable reading.
- Language of the app: Dutch, English, German or French. This changes the menus and buttons for you only; the language of your invoices and quotes is a separate choice per document.
- Advanced settings: a per-device switch that reveals extra technical options across the app, such as DNS and SSL controls on the domain pages. Leave it off unless you need those.
Meldingen (notifications)
Four switches decide what MyCompanyDesk messages you about, in the app and by email:
- When an invoice is paid late, so you can chase it right away.
- When a customer has paid.
- When your VAT return is almost due, warned well in advance.
- Tips and news from MyCompanyDesk, at most one email per month.
Truly important messages about your account are always sent and cannot be switched off.
Below the switches you can enable push notifications on this device, so overdue invoices, payments and deadlines also reach you as notifications on your phone or computer. Your browser or phone will ask for permission the first time. If you skip it, you can always turn it on later from the notification bell at the top of the app.
Push notifications are supported in browsers and in the Android app. On Android the notification uses the app icon and category colour; for inbox messages it also shows the sender's avatar when the app has registered it. Older Android builds without the native messaging service still receive the standard SDK-rendered notification.
Connected calendars
You can connect Google Calendar or Outlook so appointments from your calendar also appear in MyCompanyDesk. This is not a row on the settings page: open the agenda in the app and go to its settings, where the calendar connections page is linked. Each connection can be removed again from the same page.
Customer locations
The Customer locations card on the mobile settings page shows how many of your addressed customers can be placed on a map. Location features, such as automatic check-in and finding nearby customers, only work for customers whose address has been resolved to coordinates.
The card lists:
- how many customers with an address are resolved
- how many still need to be looked up
- a button to update addresses in one go
- a short list of customers whose addresses could not be resolved, so you can fix them
When you edit a customer address, the cached coordinates are cleared automatically. The next lookup will try to resolve the new address.
